Save the Dates

March 5, 2012

Finally, our save the dates!

First, the entire package:

I hand-wrote each address with a metallic marker, and stamped the pretty design in the corner so it would show around the postage stamps. We have a nice self-inking stamp with our address on it, so I used that for the return addresses on the back.

I bought a stack of pretty envelopes from Paper Source. I wish I could have sent each color to every person!

I hand cut and sewed these bunting flags with our wedding website url. I used a tapestry needle and embroidery floss (I worried that regular gauge thread would tear the paper). This was by far the longest part of the process and I still got most of them done in the time it took to watch the Planet of the Apes reboot.

I didn’t actually send one to The Queen, this and one to the Obamas were my photography/keepsake versions. I will, however, be sending a real invite to the President and Mrs. Obama and to Mickey and Minnie Mouse because if you do, you’ll get a response and I’m a big old nerd who wants those!

And the stamps were my favorite part!
